At this reimagined Nantucket hotel, the central courtyard lawn was shaped to enhance the multi-structure property’s flow, preserve its mid-century modern charm, and frame serene harbor views. Designed within a floodplain, the landscape reinterprets the property’s playful motel character while feeling elevated and cohesive. Two-tiered pool decks, a checkerboard kids’ pool that plays off the property patterning, native plantings, and layered seating create a relaxed, welcoming setting that anchors the architecture and guest experience. A permeable driveway and thoughtful site planning ensure functionality and resilience throughout.
