JOURNEY FROM VISION TO REALITY
Our process is deliberate and collaborative, designed to move ideas thoughtfully from initial insight to final form. Each phase builds upon the last, balancing creative exploration with technical clarity to ensure the final landscape is expressive and enduring.
We begin by understanding the site and the people connected to it. This pre-design phase is grounded in observation. Studying light, topography, vegetation, climate, and patterns of movement. Through conversations that foster mutual understanding and chemistry, we uncover how the landscape will be authentically lived in. The result is a shared insight that guides every decision that follows.
This is when we translate insight into direction. We deep dive into everything from site studies and spatial diagrams to layout, circulation, plant selection, tree placement, and hardscape elements. Native grasses, shrubs, trees, and seasonal planting palettes are considered alongside patios, pathways, and terraces to shape atmosphere and early sketches. These preparatory steps allow us to sit with ideas, draw inspiration, and carefully consider the design direction. In this phase, we define the character of the landscape, highlighting moments of pause and movement, framed views, and the balance between structure and openness.
As the vision takes form, we begin drafting everything and dialing into the details, refining materials, planting strategies, grading, and details. Through preconstruction plans and exploration via 3D imagery, technical considerations and creative intent are aligned, ensuring each element contributes to a cohesive whole. The landscape begins to reveal its rhythm, texture, and seasonal expression.
Clear documentation brings precision to the process. Detailed drawings and specifications are prepared to support accurate pricing, coordination, and execution, while addressing permitting, approvals, and site constraints. This phase offers a deliberate moment to think about everything before construction begins, ensuring that design intent is communicated clearly with careful attention to constructability, longevity, and material integrity.
During construction, we remain closely involved to guide implementation and uphold the integrity of the design. Through collaboration with builders and craftspeople, the landscape is carefully realized on site. The result is a place shaped with intention. Ready to grow, weather, and become fully integrated into the site, its sense of place, and its story over time.
